Patrick Berg’s company — and at the same time a common noun for the rare businesses where people still do the work.

Natural wood, brown leather, copper, cream and chocolate. Furniture, a workshop, a metal plate, a leather jacket, a motorcycle tank, a box and a tag. Human Made is the name of one specific company; lowercase “human made” names a category, not a chain or a franchise. There are only a handful of them.

Public image

Craft and durability. Here a flaw is not a defect but proof that a human made the thing.

The mark

A two-line serif HUMAN MADE wordmark. The short version is a linked calligraphic HM monogram with modulated stroke weight and flourishes, inside a thin square frame. The monogram is never replaced by a circle or a heart.
