After the 2035 education reform, training a specialist stretched to eight or ten years. The out-of-town campus is a spacious site around a monumental main building. Mark Smolin studied here from roughly 2038 to 2046; Michael Pavlovets teaches at the institute after leaving NOVA.

The mark

A shield combining a compass, circuit traces, a star and a dome. The compass is engineering design, the traces are computation, the star is scientific inquiry; the dome ties the mark to the campus architecture.
